Gamification and Leaderboards That
Keep Every Team Motivated

Points on task completion, 4 rarity achievement badges, milestone rewards, daily streaks with streak freeze, and org wide leaderboards.

Gamification
How it works

From completing a task to climbing the leaderboard in four steps

TARO's gamification runs automatically beneath every task points, badges, and streaks, ranking the team.

1

Points

Paste one URL or upload thousands

Drop a single LinkedIn profile URL into Lio's enrichment field, or upload a CSV of up to 1,000 URLs. Both run the same enrichment pipeline bulk jobs just queue asynchronously via BullMQ so your session never stalls.

2

Processing

Lio's enrichment engine runs in the background

Single profiles enrich and land in your lead table in under 10 seconds. Bulk jobs run via BullMQ at 5 profiles concurrently with automatic retries, exponential backoff, and live progress close the tab and come back.

3

Streaks

Build a streak daily. Use a freeze so one bad day doesn't end it.

TARO tracks your daily streak, one completed task a day, on your profile and the leaderboard. On days a task wasn't possible, a streak freeze pauses the counter without breaking the chain.

4

Compete

Org wide rankings filtered by week, month, and all time.

The leaderboard ranks every org member by accumulated XP across three windows: this week, this month, and all time. Weekly and monthly windows reset. Each row shows rank, avatar, name, badges, and XP.

Why Gamification & Leaderboards

Six reasons teams never go back

Work that earns points, unlocks badges, and moves you up a ranking gets done with different energy. TARO adds that layer.

Points scale with priority high-value work earns more

Points scale with priority high-value work earns more

Urgent tasks reward more XP than Low priority ones, reinforcing what TARO already tracks: completing important work on time. The board reflects real work.

Legendary badges are genuinely rare they mean something

Legendary badges are genuinely rare they mean something

A badge everyone earns in a month means nothing. TARO's four-rarity system makes Common badges immediate and Legendary a goal only the most consistent reach.

Streak freeze prevents one unavoidable day from killing momentum

Streak freeze prevents one unavoidable day from killing momentum

A 30-day streak broken by a bank holiday or sick day is demoralising, not motivating. Streak freezes protect momentum on days a task genuinely wasn't doable.

Three leaderboard windows mean fresh competition every week

Three leaderboard windows mean fresh competition every week

Someone far behind all time can still compete in the weekly ranking. Three windows week, month, all time keep it relevant regardless of when someone joined.

Daily streaks create a consistent completion habit

Daily streaks create a consistent completion habit

The single-task daily threshold is low enough to hit on any workday without feeling like a grind, but worth protecting. A 14-day streak is public commitment.

Milestone rewards mark the moments that matter

Milestone rewards mark the moments that matter

XP accumulates quietly. Milestone rewards bonus XP plus a badge at 30 and 100 day streaks and perfect sprint clears punctuate the journey with recognition the whole team sees.

Built for every team that needs daily work to feel rewarding

Engineering leads, agency managers, and HR teams turn on gamification for one reason: consistent task completion is the best predictor of sprint success, and making it rewarding beats requiring it.

Engineering Teams

The mid-sprint energy dip doesn't hit as hard when the leaderboard shows you're 40 XP from #1.

Teams use the weekly leaderboard as a lightweight competitive layer. The developer coasting on easy tasks sees two Urgent blockers would jump them from #4 to #2. Work feels different.

More from TARO

Gamification rewards the work. These features make the work happen.

Points come from completing tasks, closing sprints, and hitting estimates. Those features live below.

Task Management

Every task completion is the primary XP event. The richer the task subtasks, time logs, accurate estimates the more there is to earn points on each day.

Sprint & Agile

A sprint perfect clear every committed task done is TARO's highest single event XP reward, giving teams an extra reason to hold their sprint commitment.

Analytics & Dashboards

The Gamification Score widget shows your XP, streak, rank, and badge count in one panel, plus the trend data.

Time Tracking

Completing a task within 10% of its estimated hours earns an Accuracy Bonus XP award making time tracking something members want to do.

Questions & answers

Everything you need to know about Gamification & Leaderboards

Common questions from team leads, HR managers, and contributors evaluating TARO's gamification.

Every completion awards base XP by priority: Low 10, Medium 20, High 30, Urgent 50. On top, TARO applies bonuses: finishing before the due date adds +15 regardless of priority, finishing within 10% of the time estimate (if time tracking is on) adds +10, and clearing the last task in a perfect sprint adds +100. Points appear on the leaderboard within seconds. Org admins can adjust base XP per priority.
A streak freeze pauses the counter for one day without breaking the chain. When a day passes with no completions by midnight in the user's timezone, TARO applies an available freeze automatically: the counter holds and the day is marked frozen. The streak continues next day as if the frozen day didn't happen. Freezes don't add to the count, a 14-day streak with one freeze is still 14 days. Default 2 per user each month.
Yes, gamification is an opt-in workspace feature org admins can enable or disable entirely. When disabled, no XP is awarded, no badges tracked, no streaks counted, and the leaderboard is hidden everywhere. Individual users can't opt out while it's enabled workspace-wide, it's on for everyone or off for everyone, preventing data skew. Org admins can set leaderboard visibility: everyone, leads only, or private.
Badges unlock automatically when a user crosses the threshold. Common badges trigger on early milestones: completing 5 tasks, a first comment, logging time once. Uncommon trigger on consistency: a 7-day streak, 50 tasks, clearing a full sprint. Rare trigger on volume and competition: 200 tasks, first weekly #1, 30-day streak. Legendary trigger on long-term performance: 1,000 tasks, 100-day streak, all-time #1.
XP is awarded on completion and not reversed on later status changes. If a task is marked Completed, XP is awarded immediately; if it's later reopened or cancelled, the award isn't withdrawn. This is intentional: retroactive removal would create anxiety around task decisions and penalise legitimate scope changes after work was genuinely done. Completed-then-cancelled tasks are flagged for admin review.
The three windows reset independently. The weekly leaderboard resets every Monday at 00:00 in the workspace timezone, the previous week is archived and each weekly score starts at zero. The monthly leaderboard resets on the first day of each month at 00:00. The all-time leaderboard never resets, it's a cumulative total of all XP earned since the workspace activated gamification. Past weeks and months stay in history.
